About the Event Battle it out on the bocce court in support of Christie Lake Kids.
Get ready for a rolling good time! In honour of our co-founder, the late Toni Guimaraes, and his support for Christie Lake Kids (CLK), the Altis Team is once again hosting his favourite game (after ice hockey that is) and bringing the business community together.
On Tuesday, September 17, we’re hosting our 2nd Annual Altis Bocce Battle at Wesley Clover Parks. The goal is to raise money for disadvantaged children and youth by inviting Ottawa organizations to enjoy a little friendly competition as they vie for the coveted Altis Bocce Cup.
About Bocce
Here’s the thing, bocce is anyone’s game. No skill required. No gender advantage. Think: ball game that is NOT golf. You get to play as a team…win and lose as a team too!
About Toni Guimaraes & Christie Lake Kids
Toni was a CLK camper himself. As newcomers from Portugal, Toni’s family faced many challenges – and he was fortunate to be invited to Christie Lake Kids Camp for many years in a row, at no cost. CLK invested in him, and he consistently gave back. Toni passed away in 2016 at 51 years old after an arduous battle with advanced prostate cancer. He’d be thrilled to see us play his game, and raise money for his cause.
